The Friends of the Pelham Library
The Friends of the Pelham Library is a non-profit group dedicated to supporting the Pelham Library by sponsoring special events such as the Pelham plant sale and classical music concerts, as well as by providing funding for library programs, materials and equipment. Programs supported by the Friends include the Summer Arts Program, Summer Reading Program, the Library’s museum passes and travel guides, Pelham Players summer theater, author talks and more.
All members are invited to attend our quarterly meetings. Although financial support is always needed, ideas and energy are just as valuable.
Membership forms are available at the Pelham Library, or write to: Friends of the Pelham Library, 2 South Valley Road, Pelham, MA 01002.
Thank you for your support.
2022 Letter from the President
February 2022
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
On behalf of the Friends of the Pelham Library, I extend warm greetings to our library patrons. Once a year we like to reflect on our accomplishments, to look forward to plans and upcoming events, and to ask you to consider being a Friend of the Pelham Library.
The goal of the Friends is to add richness to the Pelham Library by sponsoring events, programs, materials, and equipment that suits our passionate patrons and beloved community. This past year, we committed to:
- Augmenting our e-resources with Hoopla (movies, TV shows, ebooks, audiobooks, music and more) and Comics Plus (graphic novels and digital comics)
- Ongoing communication through Wowbrary (an email alert that showcases the library’s newest items each week)
- Continuing Kanopy (a video-streaming service)
- Hosting weekly Playgroup and Music for Little Ones
- Collaborating through Libraries in the Woods
- Renewing our available museum passes
- Funding the Summer Reading Program
- Arranging the regular beautification of the Pelham Library Garden
- Rejuvenating and maintaining the Pelham Library fish tank
I’d also like to take this time to thank our esteemed director, Jodi Levine, and her outstanding troupe of library professionals and volunteers. They have worked tirelessly to offer as much uninterrupted service as possible during these very challenging times.
In the new year we are excited about cultivating a clear plan for a Library of Things in which members could reserve and check out from a collection of useful items (think cornhole to cake pans, soil test kits to sewing machines!).
We hope that you’ll renew your membership or join for the first time by contributing just $5. All donations are tax deductible and can be sent via USPS or dropped off at the Library using the form below. You can also make your contribution online using the DONATE button above. We hope to see you at our next online Friends meeting.
Thank you for your ongoing support as we look forward to many years of continued success and service to our Pelham Library.
Be well,
Andrea Allees,
President, Friends of the Pelham Library
